What is Jiu-Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art focused on positional control that leads to submission. At Artisan, it's taught systematically with an emphasis on understanding how positions connect, how control is maintained, and how technical decisions lead to consistent outcomes.
Am I locked into any contracts?
No contracts and no long-term commitments. Memberships are billed month-to-month and can be canceled at any time with 30 days' notice.
Can adults and children train in both gi and no-gi?
Yes, both gi and no-gi options are available for adults and youth, ensuring a comprehensive training experience.
Are classes available for women or girls only?
Yes. We offer a Ladies Only Self Defense class to empower women in a safe, supportive environment, led by experienced female instructors.
Do I need experience to start?
No experience is required. A dedicated Fundamentals class runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00–6:00pm, designed specifically for new students to build a clear framework of foundational positions and techniques.
What is the youngest age allowed?
The Kids BJJ program starts at age 5 (ages 5–12). The adult program is ages 12 and up.
Do you offer special rates or discounts for veterans?
Yes, special veteran membership rates are available. Please call or inquire for more details.
How do I get started as a new member?
Simply fill out our online inquiry or call us to book a free class. Kids can join a special 4-week onboarding program that includes a free gi.
